Don't run bots in #linux
Not only does #Linux oppose the whole notion of bots on IRC
(because they're generally a waste of bandwidth offering no extra
advantages for general usage), we are also not very likely to
provide you with any help getting these to run. If your only
interest in Linux and other UN*X-like operating systems is running
a ``bot'' then please feel free to ask your questions
elsewhere.
To aid us in dealing with you lot, we did add a bot to the
channel though. I won't tell you its name, I'll leave that for you
to find out. It does not accept any commands, trying to make it
respond with public '!ping', '!seen', '!op' or otherwise botlike
commands will result in a fast exit from #linux. Occasionally, a
channel operator might decide to check the presence of an
unauthorised bot in channel, using common commands like the ones
above. If you're unlucky enough to have an IRC client or script
that will respond to e.g. a !ping then you're likely to get
kicked.
