Is So XWindows!
We used to have a lot of people come on #linux asking for help
with a fictitious entry called ``Xwindows.'' We still do, really.
Some (most?) of us are purists; there's no such thing as
``Xwindows.'' Here's an email one of us received when we looked for
a live response to the issue.
Incidentally, the X man page (man X) echoes the sentiments found
here. Don't say you couldn't have known. :)

It is called
X
X Window System (without the 's')
A Window System called X
That's about it. Anything with a hyphen is wrong. But I must admit
that I gave up on defending its name a LONG time ago...
